MANITOWOC, Wis. (WFRV) – Officers with the Manitowoc Police Department have begun a death investigation after a person was found dead in a wooded area Wednesday morning.
According to a release, first responders were called to a wooded area off of South Lake Street in Manitowoc around 9:50 a.m. on March 12 after a person was found dead.
Officers’ preliminary investigation did not indicate any foul play, with authorities saying there is no threat to the public due to it being an isolated incident.

An autopsy is being conducted by the Manitowoc County Coroner’s Office with the investigation still underway.
