Oshkosh Area School District celebrates $10,000 donation intended to improve tech education

OSHKOSH, Wis. (WFRV) – Oshkosh North and West High School students interested in manufacturing and construction are getting a boost to their education courtesy of a $10,000 donation.

The donation, courtesy of Regal Rexnord, was given to the Oshkosh Area School District Foundation and enhanced the district’s technical education program.

Oshkosh Area School District officials and Regal Rexnord representatives joined on Thursday to celebrate the donation with a ceremonial ribbon cutting at Oshkosh North High School.

The new equipment was installed at Oshkosh North and Oshkosh West to replace half-century-old drill presses. About 435 students enrolled in construction, manufacturing and automotive courses are set to benefit from the new tools.

Senior Anthony Nguyen was at the event and showed off the new equipment, adding it will help them prepare for their work after school.

“Having access to this new technology is exciting,” Nguyen said, according to a release. “It really helps prepare us for what we’ll be using in the real world after graduation.”
