SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WFRV) – A 42-year-old Sheboygan man was arrested Tuesday following a large police response to a report of a potential explosive device.
According to the Sheboygan Police Department, officers received a call shortly before 8:45 a.m. regarding a suspicious item in the 1300 block of New York Avenue.

Authorities evacuated nearby residents and temporarily closed State Highway 28 between Pennsylvania Avenue and Wisconsin Avenue as a precaution. The Milwaukee County Explosives and Ordnance Disposal Unit responded and determined the device was not an explosive and posed no danger to the public.

Following an investigation, officers identified and arrested a suspect. The man will be referred to the Sheboygan County District Attorney’s Office for multiple offenses.
