Spring-like air for the last week of February

The latest northeast Wisconsin weather forecast from Storm Team 5…

The cold weather of February is officially gone! Mild weather is expected for the last five days of the month – and today, our highs will be 20+ degrees warmer than normal. The record high is 53 degrees from 1930, and that might be jeopardy today. Our snowpack with melt a bunch this week, but near or below freezing temperatures at night may create ice when that melted snow freezes again on roads and sidewalks, so be careful walking outside these upcoming mornings.

As the weather warms up outside, the skies will turn a bit more active this week with a few chances for rain and snow. The next round of snow and rain for everybody will be early Wednesday morning into the evening. Since temperatures will be mild, the accumulating snow outlook for Wednesday looks to be minimal at this point.

Gusty winds with mostly sunny skies turning over to partly cloudy skies in the afternoon. Very mild air with highs reaching the upper 40s and many 50s. West winds from 15 to 25 miles per hour, a few gusts to 30 mph.

Mostly cloudy tonight with a small rain chance far south. The low is 33 degrees.

Partly cloudy and mild again Tuesday with a high of 46 degrees.

For now, you can plan on a mix of rain and snow showers on Wednesday with a high of 39 degrees.

Thursday, breezy with a high of 43 degrees. Mostly cloudy with a chance of flurries or sprinkles.

Another rain and snow chance Friday with a high of 41 degrees.

Skies become sunny Saturday with a colder high of 30 degrees.

Sunny and 33 degrees Sunday.
