MONONA, Wis. (WFRV) – A 24-year-old Wisconsin man was arrested early on Saturday morning for an OWI offense resulting in a crash.
According to the Monona Police Department, an officer was going east on West Broadway in Monona around 2:14 a.m. on Saturday, witnessing a westbound vehicle going at a rapid speed, before he could initiate a stop, another officer saw the car, noting it traveled nearly 100 miles per hour.

The officer attempted to catch up and initiate a stop, however, the suspect driver was reportedly not cooperating, leading to a police pursuit. Soon thereafter, the officer located a crash scene.
It was deemed that the suspect driver likely lost control of the vehicle, crashing into numerous parked cars before stopping after the driver hit a light pole. The vehicle was found upright on all four wheels, with officers attending to the suspect driver and two others inside, all adults.
Each of the three in the vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries; however, the suspect diver, identified as 24-year-old Imel Pillado Morales reportedly showed signs of impairment, and was deemed under the influence, leading to his OWI arrest. In addition, he was reportedly driving with a revoked license.
Pillado Morales was taken into the Dane County Jail on the following charges:
- Operating while Intoxicated
- Second Degree Reckless Endangerment
- Eluding
- Operating after Revocation
In addition, the Monona Police Department said that he has a history of dangerous driving with multiple guilty verdicts on speeding violations. Pillado Morales was also stopped for a speeding violation on New Year’s Day by the Monona Police Department.
