MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities arrested two 16-year-olds after a fight broke out near a high school in southern Wisconsin on Monday afternoon.
According to a release, Madison police officers responded to a report of a fight near Vel Phillips Memorial High School. The altercation, which occurred off school property, involved individuals who were not all students at the school.

School staff contacted police around 12:30 p.m. after some of the students involved returned to the high school, where they were reportedly part of a minor disturbance inside the building.
During the police response, one student allegedly attempted to fight a parent who had arrived at the school.

A 16-year-old male was arrested for resisting and disorderly conduct, while another 16-year-old male was arrested for resisting and trespassing. Both were taken to the juvenile reception center.
The investigation remains ongoing. No additional details were provided.
