Brown County District Attorney’s office rules Green Bay Police officer actions justifiable

GREEN BAY Wis. WFRV – Green Bay Police officer Dan Skenandore returned fire during a standoff, a justifiable action

“Yesterday we all learned from the Brown County District Attorney’s office that they have declined to proceed with any further criminal investigation or charges involving Officer Skenandore in this critical incident back on February 23rd,” explained Green Bay Police Chief Chris Davis.

Officer Skenadore could not be reached for an on-camera interview, but he released a statement saying

“I have chosen this profession to help people during some of the most difficult times of their lives. I do this knowing that there can be dangerous situations. This traumatic event has greatly impacted my family and me. I appreciate the continued support I have been receiving from our community.”

Skenandore has returned to work; Chief Davis says the department plans to learn from his experience.

“For us, the next steps in the process is to conduct an administrative review of the event what we’re looking for is policy compliance and then anything else that this situation can teach us in terms of either policy, training, equipment, or other needs,” stated Davis.

Chief Davis says the department expects to complete their administrative review within a few weeks.
