Bystander pulls Wisconsin man from vehicle before it catches on fire, flown to hospital

BEAVER DAM, Wis. (WFRV) – A 49-year-old Wisconsin man was flown to the hospital after being pulled from his vehicle before it started on fire.

The crash happened on Monday morning at around 11:30 a.m. when deputies responded to South Center Road in the town of Beaver Dam.

Preliminary investigations reveal a vehicle was traveling northbound on South Center Road and entered the southbound ditch.

The vehicle hit a field drive, causing it to vault, and when it finally came to a rest, a bystander saw what had unfolded and immediately sprung into action.

The Good Samaritan assisted in extricating the 49-year-old man from Beaver Dam out of the vehicle safely before the 2018 Ford Taurus eventually caught on fire.

The Beaver Dam man was sent to a hospital by emergency service personnel before being airlifted by UW Med Flight to another hospital. The man is believed to have suffered severe injuries because of the crash.

Wisconsin driver dies at the hospital following a roll-over crash

The incident remains under investigation by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office Crash Investigation Team.

The name of the driver is being withheld at this time.
