Fond du Lac County man facing multiple bestiality charges, allegedly described encounters via text

(WFRV) – A man from Campbellsport was officially charged in court after allegedly having multiple sexual contacts with his dog.

According to a criminal complaint obtained by Local 5, Steven Rosales faces multiple bestiality charges following an investigation. The complaint says that while investigating a different matter concerning Rosales, authorities learned that he sent text messages to a witness.

This witness reportedly gave their phone to law enforcement. Authorities reportedly noted multiple conversations between the witness and Rosales regarding him engaging in sexual intercourse with his dog.

The complaint lists multiple text messages allegedly sent from Rosales claiming that he had previously had sex with his female dog. As well as, performing a a sexual act on his female dog.

Rosales reportedly asked the witness if they wanted to see him perform sexual acts on his dog. He claimed via text messages that he ‘loved it’.

On April 12, authorities spoke to Rosales at his residence and he said he has three dogs. When asked about the text messages, he reportedly claimed that he did this to get the witness aroused by his actions.

He is charged with:

    • Felony
    • Up to six years in prison

  • Attempt Bestiality – Distribute, Sell, Publish Sexual Contact With Animal Material (1st Offense)

    • Up to three and a half years in prison

Court records show that Rosales is due in court on April 24 for his initial appearance. Additionally, Rosales is facing additional charges in a separate case.

These charges include:

  • Sexual Misconduct by School Staff or Volunteer
  • Misconduct/Office-Act/Excess Authority
  • Misconduct/Office-Act/Excess Authority

The West Bend Police Department confirmed to Local 5 was with the Kewaskum Police Department working as a Police School Liaison Officer in the Kewaskum School District. Due to a conflict of interest, the West Bend Police Department reportedly looked into the matter.

Charges were eventually refereed in Washington County. He is reportedly no longer on the police force.

All three are felonies. For this case, he had a cash bond set at $40,000 and is due in court on May 28 for a hearing.
