Large-scale search effort with dozens of drones conducted in Two Rivers as search for Elijah continues

TWO RIVERS, Wis. (WFRV) – As the search for missing three-year-old Elijah Vue continues throughout northeast Wisconsin, a large-scale search effort with dozens of drones was conducted in the Two Rivers area on Thursday.

The Two Rivers Police Department provided an update on the search for Elijah via its Facebook on March 28, providing information on two large-scale search efforts last week and on Thursday.

A ‘large search operation’ was conducted in the Shoto area with assistance from the Wisconsin DNR, local farmers, and local agricultural businesses last week, officers said.

On Thursday, another large search operation was held, with help from 70 teams of drone operators from police departments and sheriff’s offices throughout the state.

Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), Two Rivers Police, and Two Rivers Fire Department assisted in checking areas of interest with the cooperation of landowners.

We encourage participation in coordinated and legally permissible search efforts for Elijah. We have also remained in contact with Elijah’s family with assistance from DCI regarding the efforts of our searches. We will continue our search efforts while also investigating the circumstances regarding the disappearance of Elijah Vue and will release information as we can.

Two Rivers Police Department

The last break in the case in the search for Elijah Vue, who went missing on February 20, was announced on March 18 when Two Rivers Police Chief Ben Meinnert said they had found a red and white plaid blanket about 3.7 miles from Vang’s home earlier in the investigation.

They have since determined that the blanket belonged to Elijah.

Vue was allegedly last seen by Jesse Vang, 39, inside Vang’s residence in Two Rivers. Vang is reportedly in a relationship with Elijah’s mother, Katrina Baur. Both are currently being held on child neglect charges.
