Motorcycle crash in Wisconsin leaves driver with life-threatening injuries, alcohol believed to be a factor

CALAMUS, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in central Wisconsin say one man is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries following a motorcycle crash early Sunday morning.

According to a release from the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded at 1:16 a.m. to Owl Road in the town of Calamus for a reported single-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle.

Officials say a 37-year-old Beaver Dam man and his motorcycle were found in a field following the crash by someone who lived in the area.

Upon arrival, deputies immediately provided life-saving measures, including CPR, to resuscitate the driver.

The driver was then taken to the Marshfield Medical Center in Beaver Dam before being taken by helicopter to UW-Health with life-threatening Injuries.

Authorities say they believe alcohol to be a factor in the crash an an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
