UPDATE: Highway 91 lanes reopen after ethanol tanker rollover crash in Oshkosh

WEDNESDAY, 5/8/24 – 3:53 p.m.

OSHKOSH, Wis. (WFRV) – WisDOT has provided an update relating to the ethanol tanker that rolled over on HWY 91 in the early morning hours of Wednesday.

According to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), all lanes have now reopened.

Authorities first responded to a single-vehicle crash on HWY 91 around 1:45 a.m. All lanes reopened around 3:50 p.m.

OSHKOSH, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in Oshkosh say they are actively investigating a crash Wednesday morning in which an ethanol tanker rolled over on the highway.

According to a release from the Oshkosh Police Department, officers responded at 1:46 a.m. to a reported single-vehicle crash on Highway 91.

On arrival, officers observed that an ethanol tanker had rolled over, however, they say that there did not appear to be a leak.

Out of extra caution, officials have shut down Highway 91 between Oakwood Road and Clairville Road and have evacuated some nearby homes.

No one was hurt and in the latest update from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, the road is expected to remain closed for several more hours while officials continue to investigate and clear the scene.

Those headed westbound are asked to take Highway 44 to Clearview Road to Highway 91 and those headed East should do the reverse order of said alternative route.
